Street Survival young drivers course – April 28th

There is a Street Survival event on April 28th at the Griffiss Business & Technology Park (Old Air Force Base) in Rome NY. These events are for 16 – 21 year olds with a valid permit or licence.

We are helping out at this event by supplying Instructors, cone chasers and organizers, Please contact Dennis Hesse at dhesse@twcny.rr.com if you can help out.

This is not your typical young adult drivers education school! The purpose of the school is to teach new drivers how to handle their cars safely. exercises such as slalom, skid pad and lane change will let the student experience how their vehicle will react in avoidance maneuvers, hard braking and other emergency situations while in a safe environment. I (Chris White) have instructed at several of these events and I recommend them very highly – this is the only safe way to learn how a vehicle reacts in emergency situations – you can’t learn this is a classroom or from a book!

If you know anybody that fits this age group I encourage you to pass this on to them or their parents.

We also need volunteers to help make this event the best it can be. We have training to help you become a coach or you can assist with each of the excessive. This is a great chance to help educate new drivers and keep them safe and proficient drivers!

The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival® is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.

It’s about more than driving – it’s about LIVING!

Three parents, including Scott Goodyear, former Indy Car Champion, share their perspectives in this video.

All Schools $95.
